NINETEEN year-old Danny Evans of Wrexham shot his way to a seventh place finish in his first junior final at the International Shooting Championships in Hanover, Germany.
The teenager produced some impressive form to reach the top eight shoot-off and record a new personal best score as the Welsh Smallbore rifle team took on some of the best smallbore rifle shooters from around the world last weekend.

Johanne Brekke, previous commonwealth Gold and current individual bronze medallist scored 597 out of a possible 600, equalling the current ladies prone World, European and British records to clinch the silver medal.

Johanne's score combined with those of Sophie Shaw of Bedale in Yorkshire and Francesca Fulgoni of Abergavenny, allowed the ladies team to take the Bronze medal.

In the men's prone event current Commonwealth Individual Gold medallist Dave Phelps produced a score of 595 out of 600 as he narrowly missed the final after being counted out on his final ten shots. Phelps was one of three shooters whose combined scores took the men's team event bronze medal.

And Jenny Corish achieved a new personal best score in the ladies three positional match as did John Croyden of Oswestry in the men's match.

Meanwhile, Tom Meredith, 16, of Ebbw Vale Meredith, along with Helen Warnes, 18, from Torfaen Rifle Club are both currently training for the World Youth Games in Pune, India, this coming September.
