RUGBY UNION - Derby victory brings season to an end
DIVISION FOUR NORTH - Mold put their disappointing season behind them with a 23-14 away win at Denbigh in Division Four North.
The last game of the season saw Gareth Hughes and Chris Lewis run in tries for the visitors whilst Dan Edmonds kicked a conversion.
Director of rugby Aubrey Evans insisted it was difficult to motivate players with little left to play for: "We didn't play too well, he said.
"Although Denbigh tried to spoil our attacks and make life difficult in the end, a win is a win.
"Their were positives from the game, Mike Rogers played very well at scrum half and Gareth Hughes scored his first try for the first team in only his second game of the season after fantastic play.
"Aspects of the game went well for us, much like the season as a whole, but it was a bit disappointing that we did not win by more.
Bala defeated visiting side Llandudno 28-15 to end their season on a positive note in the days other game of the division.
In Division Five, Bethesda just saw off away side Welshpool 53-35 in a closely fought contest whilst Bro Ffestiniog beat hosts Machynlleth 51-0 in a comprehensive display.
