ANGLING - Kevin's back-breaking haul nets the victory

The Tuesday Rovers match at Hampton Springs saw Kevin Williams as the easy victor taking a huge net of carp with a back-breaking 159lb 12oz, writes MARTIN POWELL.
Wendy Locker was over a clean ton off the mark with 57lb 10oz, with Shaun Sandham in third place with 46lb 10oz.

Sam Kennedy won the Sunday Evening match with a carp based 80lb 8oz.

Martin Churchill was second place with 73lb 4oz, leaving John Tolley in third with a level 50lb.

Bank Holiday Monday saw Phil Hardman win the day with 93lb 2oz of carp taken to corn and pellet off Long Island's peg 8. John Raby netted his way to second with 66lb of carp, leaving Sam Kennedy in third place with his 51lb return.

Richie O'Connor took the win at the Weston Pools open on Tuesday with a carp based 62lb 7oz. Neil Jones was second with a similar net for 52lb 4oz, just nudging Andy Amos into third place with 51lb 4oz.

The Sunday match was won by Jim Dewhurst who fished off peg 5 on Stretton Pool, netting 61lb 6oz. Clive Wynne was second on the day with 58lb 7oz of the Wilfred Owen, with Steve Barwise third placed off Stretton with 49lb 2oz.

Royal Mail Chester fished at Lingmere where Phil |Roberts was the easy winner on the day with a good bag of F1's to return 28lb 6oz. George Rothwell was second with 19lb 8oz, with Mick Walsh third with 17lb 8oz.

Saint Teresa's travelled to Holmston Hall where Michael Powell took the win with a mixed bag for 18lb 4oz. Keith Potts netted his way to second with a level 17lb, with Andy Griffiths closing out the frame, in third place, with 13lb 8oz.

Connah's Quay fished out their latest match on the Lake of Tranquillity where the day was won by Ashley Lewis who took a carp based 60lb 4oz.

Kev Thornton was second with a similar net for 41lb 2oz, with Martin Holding in third place with 34lb 10oz.

Brian Hoer took the coin at the Corus match with bream and bits to return 25lb 1oz. Alan Poganski eked out 1lb 9oz, for second place with Derek Hewitt in third place with 14oz.

Les Picken took the coin at the Tuesday Evening Open at the Lake of Tranquillity with a carp net of 42lb 7oz. Mark Boulton was second placed on the day with 26lb 15oz with Wayne Jones in third place with 22lb 3oz. Anglers wishing to fish the Evening Matches are requested to book in, as usual, with the draw taking pace at the lodge at 2pm, Fishing 3 'til 8pm.

Peter Delamaine was the winner if the Thursday Open with carp and skimmers to return a level 17lb. Mark Boulton was again the bridesmaid, for the second time, netting a second placed 16lb 10oz. Mick Wylde closed out the frame, in third with 13lb 8oz.

The Sunday Open was fished out on the Horseshoe where Mark Greasley won the day with carp and chub to return 35lb 14oz. Chris Openshaw was second placed with 31lb 6oz, with Reg Gilbert closing out the weeks action in third place with 27lb 5oz.

Buckley Angling Association are again hosting the Pete Ryan Memorial, Combat Stress match where Tickets are on sale at Lionel's and Deeside Tackle. The match is a 40 peg open evening match with the draw at 4pm, fishing 5'til 9pm, priced at £15.00.

WAL GOCH:
Dave Archel of Anglesey picgtured holding his 9lb 12oz rainbow. Gary Crofts of Holt landed a 3lb rainbow on a red buzzer and Tom Edwards of Mold also netted a 3lber.

Tree Tops: Scott Gordon, Flint, 6 lbs 11 ozs, badgers sett pool, montana nymph.
